August, affectionately called “Augie,” currently holds the title for the oldest living golden retriever in recorded history. While several golden retrievers have reached the respectable age of 17 or even 18 and 19 years, Augie stands apart as the first of his kind to reach the remarkable milestone of twenty years.
Even though Augie is getting up there in years, she remains in good health. For the past few years, Augie has been coping with kidney problems, causing her to lose some of her agility compared to her younger days. However, she can still navigate her surroundings effortlessly and takes great pleasure in exploring the yard on foot.
Augie’s journey through life has been filled with ups and downs, creating a memorable and sometimes challenging experience. This adorable furry friend originally started her life as a rescue dog, and astonishingly, she had to adapt to two different homes before finally finding her forever family.
