During his work break, a man unexpectedly found a lonely kitten crying for help outside. This chance encounter would soon lead to a heartwarming transformation in his life.

In early July, Luke Hewick and Lauren Hartley, a couple from Hull, England, decided to take a different route on their walk. As they passed by a garbage bin, they were startled by the sound of kittens crying. Luke shared with RSPCA that they usually wouldn’t have gone down that way, but Lauren suggested the change of scenery. After stopping to pet a friendly cat nearby, they heard the cries and initially thought the cat had followed them. However, Lauren spotted movement inside a large bag in the bin, prompting Luke to take a closer look.
A compassionate couple discovered a shocking sight in a trash bin: a bag containing two scared kittens. Despite the stormy weather, the couple rescued the trembling and wet felines. Luke hurried home for towels to dry and comfort the kittens. They decided to offer temporary shelter to the kittens and contacted the RSPCA for assistance in caring for the vulnerable animals.
After being bathed and fed, the kittens easily bonded with their new owners. Luke mentioned, “We were more than willing to take care of them, and before we knew it, they had won our hearts over.” He believed that it was no coincidence that they stumbled upon the kittens and felt it was meant to be that they kept them.
The tiny tabbies were now content, clean, and well-fed, relishing in the warmth and comfort provided. It didn’t take long for them to feel comfortable and start exploring their new home, establishing it as their own territory.
Luke mentioned, “Even though we’ve only had them for a short while, we can already see their playful and unique personalities shining through.”

At the same time, the RSPCA is looking into the incident involving the kittens and aiming to identify the individual accountable.
Roscoe and Lyla, both around eight weeks old, have quickly settled into their new environment. They have become quite adventurous, thoroughly inspecting every corner of their residence and developing a strong bond with their owners.
The duo loves to play and roam around the house, relishing the attention and affection from their human companions.
The brother and sister cats are absolutely thrilled with their new forever home. Luke and Lauren decided to spoil their adorable kittens with some fancy gifts, only to discover that their kitties had different tastes. Instead of enjoying the variety of toys, the siblings are more interested in turning cardboard boxes into their own little castle.

The cat siblings are carefree now, with food and shelter taken care of, bounding around the house with a sense of ownership. They boldly seek affection from their owners, climbing onto their shoulders for some up-close and personal time – goodbye privacy.
“We feel privileged to have these two little ones in our lives. We truly think they came into our lives for a special reason. They are sure to have a lifetime of happiness with us.”
