Feline Friend Shows Up at Doorstep, Ready to Leave Stray Life Behind and Join a Loving Family

One day, a wandering cat appeared on a windowsill, looking to trade in its life on the streets for something better.

Carlton, the ginger tabby feline, found a special bond with a young girl in Brooklyn. The girl started feeding the stray cat, who kept coming back for more. When Carlton returned with an injury recently, he meowed for help from the windowsill. The girl and her family rescued him and took him to Little Wanderers NYC for medical treatment.
Little Wanderers NYC emphasized the importance of not ignoring friendly cats on the streets and shared Carlton’s story. They mentioned that Carlton was unwell and had a large cut behind his ear that needed stitches.

Carlton, with his gentle demeanor reminiscent of a teddy bear, found himself in a tough spot on the streets, meowing for assistance from the windowsill. Despite his hardships, this five-year-old feline remained resilient and positive, even after testing positive for FIV. Carianne, a seasoned fosterer from Staten Island, New York, caught wind of Carlton’s plight through social media and extended a helping hand. She noted that animal rescues were overwhelmed with cats and kittens, a result of both kitten season and the lingering effects of last year’s population surge.

Little Wanderers NYC welcomed Carlton into his foster home with open arms, where he initially felt a bit uncertain but soon found comfort in the company of his new human companions. Despite his initial hesitation, Carlton’s kind nature and compassionate spirit shone through, making him a beloved member of the household. With food, shelter, and love provided for him, Carlton can finally let go of the worries of survival and enjoy a life of care and contentment.

Carianne, also known as @kittennursecari, is delighted to see the orange tabby safe and well-cared for. She noticed that his fur was tangled and his ear wound required attention near the stitches. Despite missing some teeth, he eagerly devoured any food offered to him. Carianne found it easy to earn his trust because he has a genuine fondness for people and is very affectionate. He loves to snuggle into his human’s arms and bask in their love.

The tabby has become a devoted snuggler, seeking out attention and hugs from his foster parents throughout the day. He seems to be making up for lost time spent living on the streets by embracing every moment of affection and care. After a grooming session, he purrs contentedly and enjoys lounging on Carianne’s lap, seemingly unwilling to move.

Carlton adores cuddling with his owners and is like a lovable giant mountain lion. If you stop petting him, he’ll nudge you for more attention and even roll onto his back for belly rubs. He is simply the ideal feline companion. According to Carianne from Love Meow, whoever adopts him will be incredibly fortunate. Thanks to the assistance of Little Wanderers NYC, this sweet tabby has fully recuperated and is now seeking a loving forever home of his own.

“He exudes a teddy bear-like charm and is overflowing with affection,” said Carianne, owner of @kittennursecari. “With his friendly and laid-back demeanor, he is definitely one of the most welcoming cats we’ve come across. This orange golden boy is truly a precious gem.”
