“Farewell to a Feline Phenomenon: Celebrating the Life of a Guinness World Record Holder”

Frankenlouie, also known as Frank and Louie, was a one-of-a-kind feline who was rescued from being put down by a breeder in 1999. This extraordinary cat was born with two faces, earning him the nickname of a Janus cat, named after the Roman god. Despite being given little chance of survival, a vet nurse named Marty Stevens decided to take him home and give him the care he needed. To everyone’s surprise, Frank and Louie lived an amazing life for another 15 years. Sadly, he was recently put to sleep at Tuffs University due to cancer. In 2012, he created history by setting the Guinness World Record as the oldest Janus cat to survive. Although his condition was rare, he lived an exceptional life with only one life to live.

R.I.P.: 'Frankenlouie', the world's oldest Janus cat - a feline with two faces - died at the age of 15 on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014. The Guinness World Record holder passed away at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tuft's University in Grafton, Mass. according to owner Martha

Frankenlouie, the beloved Janus cat who captured the world’s heart with his two faces, has sadly passed away at the age of 15 due to cancer. He will be deeply missed. Rest peacefully, Frankenlouie.

Rare: The Guinness World Record holder passed away at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tuft's University in Grafton, Massachusetts, according to owner Martha 'Marty'Stevens

Unorthodox: As per Marty Stevens, the proprietor of the venue, the person with the world record has regrettably breathed their last at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in Grafton, Massachusetts.

Precious: Marty Stevens is seen here at home with her beloved cat. She called the face on the left Frank, while the face on the right is identified as Louie

Marty Stevens was the proud owner of a rare cat named Frank and Louie, who had two faces. She shared a picture of her beloved feline friend on social media, but later discovered that veterinarians had diagnosed it with cancer. Sadly, the cat passed away shortly after. Unlike other Janus cats who usually cannot survive for more than a few days due to their defects, Frank and Louie lived much longer and even made it into the Guinness World Records for being the longest-surviving Janus cat. As a vet nurse, Stevens was initially supposed to end Frank and Louie’s life herself when a breeder brought the cat to her. However, she decided to take care of him at home and nourished him through tubes in both mouths. Despite his unique condition, Frank and Louie had a lively personality and enjoyed taking walks around the neighborhood.

Beloved: The Janus cat was set to be euthanized by a breeder in 1999, but Stevens, a vet nurse, decided to bring him home with her

Hello! In the year 1999, a Janus cat was facing the fate of being put down by its breeder. However, a veterinary nurse named Stevens intervened and decided to take in the cat as her own.

Fascinating: Frankenlouie was blind in his center eye, but his outer eyes function as per usual

It is truly amazing how Frankenlouie lived a normal life even with his middle eye being blind. It’s interesting to note that his two outer eyes were functioning perfectly and despite having two mouths and noses, he had only one brain. Unfortunately, Stevens, the owner of Frankenlouie, is heartbroken over the loss of her dear pet who was with her for 15 years. She shared how Frankenlouie fell ill during Thanksgiving and she had to bring him to Tuffs University clinic where the veterinarian suggested euthanasia due to his severe pain. Though grieving, Stevens expressed her interest in finding another Janus cat like Frankenlouie to keep her company again, stating, “I would love to do it again.”
